International Women's Day 2023

International Women's Day

As part of our continued commitment to diversity and inclusion, everyone across OjiFS took time out to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) and #EmbraceEquity.

By simply knowing the facts around gender inequalities and having the conversation, we can all play our part and inspire positive change.

Events were held right across our organisation to engage, raise awareness, and educate on equality vs equity. Some sites bonded over food with morning teas, some showed their appreciation with flowers, and others chose to share success stories and shine a spotlight on some of the incredible women we have in our business.

The manufacturing industry is historically male dominated, with frontline roles typically associated with physical strength. Technological advancements and more women in fields such as engineering, are changing those perceptions, but we’ve still got a long way to go.

At OjiFS, we support the advancement and development of women at all levels of their careers. As a result, we are seeing more and more talented females pushing through the manufacturing bias and making a difference in our business.

However, we know we can do more. Celebrating International Women’s Day is important, but it’s what we all do every day that creates a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.

OjiFS is committed to taking action to drive gender parity and encourage more women into manufacturing. We are incredibly proud of the women in our workforce and want to take this opportunity to thank them for their valued contribution to the success of Oji Fibre Solutions. We look forward to supporting the careers of those already in our business and welcoming more females to OjiFS in 2023.
