We offer integrated logistics services with Lodestar via our web-based freight management software solution, eCargo. Our shipping services include break bulk and container shipping solutions, complemented by freight technology solutions for New Zealand importers and exporters. We also provide domestic transport solutions and inter-modal logistics to facilitate export shipments.

Lodestar provides a diverse range of shipping services, including container, break bulk and bulk options. We control and manage significant export volumes from New Zealand, which are generally forest products-based cargoes, including kraft market pulp, kraft linerboard, sawn lumber and logs.
Lodestar operates in the break bulk market, generally servicing the north Asian markets of South Korea and China. Export cargos from New Zealand are generally forest products (wood pulp, kraft linerboard, lumber and logs) - for OjiFS and other exporters.
BREAK BULK SHIPPING
Lodestar shipping has capacity available for bulk and break bulk cargoes on regular scheduled sailings from New Zealand to Asia, and southbound from North East to South East Asia into the Oceania region. We offer the flexibility of spot or monthly freight contracts, or longer term contracts of affreightment in order to provide increased certainty and reliability of scheduled break bulk shipping services.

CONTAINER SHIPPING SOLUTIONS
Lodestar manages approximately 40,000 export containers (twenty foot equivalent units) from New Zealand, to more than 30 worldwide destinations. We work in conjunction with various shipping lines, some of whom are strategic business partners to Lodestar. Typically our service scope includes:
- Management of commercial tenders and the procurement of export slot allocations with shipping lines
- Daily management and optimisation of export cargo bookings with shipping lines
- Daily co-ordination of all activities necessary to meet export cut-off timeframes
- Managing shipping line service performance, including regular customer communications and reporting
- Comprehensive export documentation and trade finance advisory services
Lodestar manages the shipping process from beginning to end, commencing with the booking of the export order with the shipping line, through to the delivery of the container, or the product itself, to the agreed final destination or consignee hand over point. Empty container delivery to export pack point and/or the transportation of full containers to the export terminal can also be managed if required.
Lodestar’s container shipping solutions now incorporate the services previously delivered through Bearing360, following the merging of the Bearing360 operations into Lodestar. Export bookings can still be made through our online customer portal, allowing our customers’ seamless access to Lodestar’s global shipping network.
