OjiFS’ Nadine More flying the flag for women in manufacturing
We are incredibly proud of our Kinleith Planning and Shut Down Manager, Nadine More, who is flying the flag for women in manufacturing following her success at the Mainstream Asset Management Conference in Melbourne last month - one of the largest maintenance conferences in the Southern Hemisphere. Nadine was selected to present a 40-minute session on “Defeating Imposter Syndrome – Breaking into the Boy’s Club” to over 600 delegates. Competing against 30 other distinguished industry experts, Nadine’s presentation ranked 2nd overall.
STANDING OUT & BEING SELECTED FOR MAINSTREAM 2023
Young Women in Leadership – Breaking the Industry Standard
At the beginning of May, Nadine attended three training schools in Auckland with other Planners, Engineers, and Maintenance Managers. The workshops focused on various aspects of planning and included Asset Management and Reliability. The training sessions worked through leadership training and developing skills needed to be effective leaders in today’s changing workforce. Over the course of 7-days Nadine had the opportunity to present to the group of 30 on various topics.
Nadine’s participation and presentation on ‘Young Women in Leadership – Breaking the Industry Standard’ resulted in her being offered an opportunity to be a fully sponsored guest speaker at the Mainstream Maintenance Conference in Melbourne in August.
“Nadine showed up as an extraordinary person and stood out as someone who is not only driven and passionate but someone who strives to make a real difference. A difference by leading in the way she does – with courage and strength, with heart and integrity, with purpose and determination.”

PRESENTING AT MAINSTREAM CONFERENCE 2023
Defeating Imposter Syndrome – Breaking into the Boy’s Club
Mainstream is one of the biggest maintenance conferences in the Southern Hemisphere with over 600 delegates. This year’s theme was ‘Reimagining Asset Management’ where Nadine joined a list of established authors, CEOs, and leaders from around Australia and New Zealand, delivering a 40-minute speech.
Nadine’s session ‘Defeating imposter syndrome – Breaking into the boy’s club’, centred on being the only female manager in a maintenance team, describing the different barriers and challenges she had to overcome compared to her counterparts.
“A huge heartfelt thank you from all of us at Mainstream. We have such appreciation for everything you shared with us and the vibrant community. You did incredibly well. Your personal speaker scores for your sessions were amazing! The average speaker score was 4.55 out of 5 and your presentation scored 4.71 (2nd overall!). Congratulations on your performance, we hope you enjoyed it.”

The Eventful Group
As a result of Nadine’s success at Mainstream 2023, she has been invited to speak at a Mainstream Summit in Perth next year.
We are incredibly proud of Nadine; not only in her speaking achievements, but also for having the courage to share such a personal experience in an open, honest, and authentic way, on a topic that is not often talked about in the manufacturing industry. It is this approach that makes Nadine so relatable to audiences and has contributed to her success. We are very fortunate to have Nadine, and others like her, on the OjiFS team.
