Yatala celebrates five year milestone

Our Packaging Yatala box-making facility in Queensland, Australia, recently celebrated five years of operations.
Packaging Yatala, is our purpose-built, state of the art manufacturing site, that along with our other OjiFS packaging sites, provides quality corrugated packaging solutions to primary sector industries across Australasia.
Packaging Yatala harnesses Industry 4.0 technologies, including robotics and PLC (Programming Logic Controller). With sustainability designed into plant operations, the facility includes a five-star environmental rating, automation, and machine interconnectivity.
Since opening, Yatala has enjoyed around twenty per cent year on year growth in both sales and production volume, with staff numbers also growing to keep pace with increasing demand.
Around 90 current and previous staff members recently gathered at the site to celebrate this significant five year milestone.
Part of the celebrations included acknowledging foundation staff members still with the company. Only a handful of people have left Packaging Yatala since it opened, with two returning to reconnect with former colleagues and join in the celebrations. This is an indication of the culture that has evolved at Packaging Yatala, made possible by all the great people there.
Our Queensland State Operations Manager, Tim Slade, noted foundation members commented on how different it was, volume wise since the beginning. Queensland Sales Manager, Jason Cairns-Lawrence, spoke about how proud he was of the sales team bringing on new work. While Manufacturing Manager, Kerwin Ritchie, praised the operations team for their diligent work around quality and performance throughout the Yatala journey.
Congratulations to everyone at ‘Team Yatala’ who have all made it the success it is today. We look forward to further increasing presence within Queensland and broader markets across Australia’s eastern seaboard.
