Our Forest Resources Business Unit (BU) comprises two mill facilities, Kinleith Mill and Tasman Mill for the manufacture of market pulp.
Kinleith Mill and Tasman Mill are both strategically positioned within economic distance of the Central North Island Fibre Basket (CNIFB) where our plantation softwood radiata pine is sustainably sourced and chipped, ready for pulping.
Both OjiFS mills hold Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) chain of custody certification.
Our five-year Sustainability Action Plan unites our people and strengthens the weave of sustainability across all OjiFS Business Units.

Kinleith Mill is our flagship operations, established in 1953.
It is also our largest mill, producing over half a million tonnes of bleached softwood market pulp and kraft linerboard paper (from virgin fibre and recycled fibre) annually.
Kinleith Mill is designated an upper tier Major Hazard Facility and must satisfy the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work (Major Hazard Facilities) Regulations 2016. TASMAN MILL
Tasman Mill has been the centrepiece of the Kawerau community since it was opened in 1953 and is the largest employer in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Strategically located within the Kawerau Geothermal System – the world’s largest industrial geothermal area, Tasman Mill produces Unbleach Kraft Pulp (UKP) and K25 fibre cement pulp.
In 2019 we completed our 3-year, $63 million investment to improve operational efficiency and secure a more sustainable future for Tasman Mill. This involved changing the mill's energy systems - eliminating the need for coal, making efficient use of biofuels and increasing our use of clean geothermal steam, and refocusing the product mix to unbleached pulp products only.
